FRAMNÆS METRE CUP 2019

WELCOME TO SANDEFJORD!

Once again Sandefjord Sailing Club and 12mR Framnæs AS have the pleasure and honor of inviting the 12 metre yacht owners and their captains and crews to three days of races accompanied by a full social program, as follows:

Thursday 25th July - Registration

Friday 26th July - First Race day

Saturday 27th July - Second Race day

Sunday 28th july - Final Race day

 

RACE AREA

Sandefjord; from the inner harbor of Sandefjord out to the famous lighthouse island of Svenner.

COURSES

Races in Sandefjord

The races will be around selected fixed marks in the fjord and surrounding areas.

 

This will be classic, "gentleman's racing" based on the Baltic handicap system.

 

Fetch race from Sandefjord to Risør.

RACE ORGANISER

Sandefjord Sailing Club (www.sandefjordseilforening.no). The club was founded in 1890, and is thus one of the oldest sailing clubs in -Norway. The club has long -experience in arranging local, national, and international -regattas.

NOTICE OF RACE

Notice of race will be distributed later.

BASE

Framnæs, in Sandefjord’s inner harbor, is 12mR Erna Signe’s and 12mR Magda VIII’s homeport (www.12mr.no). Framnæs is an excellent location for participants and Sandefjord is a perfect arena for the public to view the racing.

SOCIAL ARRANGEMENTS

Thursday evening: Get together soup

Friday evening:      Sailors dinner

Saturday evening: Garden Party

Sunday afternoon: Prizegiving

ACCOMMODATION

MARINA

Framnæs Maritime AS can provide a comprehensive marine service if needed, e.g. boatlift up to 75 tons, diesel, engine repairs, etc.

SANDEFJORD

Sandefjord is located 110 km south of Oslo, by the outer Oslofjords west coast. Sandefjord is especially known as an old whaling town, but is now -a dynamic town with all modern facilities

TRANSPORTATION

Sandefjord is ideally situated communication wise: it has its own -international airport at Torp, (www.torp.no), train and bus services to Oslo, ferry service to Sweden (Strømstad) and to Denmark (Hirtshals) from neighboring town Larvik
